Love and the price of infamy play out as a group of friends run the streets of New York hoping to become the biggest writers in the city. Gimme the Loot won the Grand Jury Prize at last year's fest so this is some quality celluloid, y'all.

Kevin Russell, frontman of The Gourds,
is Shinyribs

According to Shinyribs’ website, Kevin Russell, also frontman of The Gourds, started Shinyribs “to stretch out as a performer and band leader.” Russell’s solo project has come a long way since it formed in 2008. He just released his second full-length album under the name Shinyribs, Gulf Coast Museum, this past April 16. KUT states that the album is a tour through Russell’s “unique universe, featuring folk ballads, soul struts” and more. Shinyribs is currently on tour in the US and will be performing at the Austin City Limits Music Festival this fall.

Attend the 2014 SXSW Interactive Festival for FREE by getting involved in our scholarship program. Now in its fourth year, this scholarship program leverages the knowledge of the international SXSW community. More specifically, we ask the international community to help us identify some of the non-profit heros from across the United States and around the world who are using digital tools to help empower the less fortunate members of our community.
